Three ways to double your hustle


Hi everyone! Welcome, welcome back to Hazy Fantasies. I hope you’re all having a relaxing Saturday, I definitely am. It feels so good to wake up at 12pm, and then sleep some more. The inspiration for today’s post came from working with some vendors, and sometimes observing. I’ve had the worst luck with photographers so far, I really don’t know why, please pray that my experience with them gets better. From bailing on me on the day of a shoot, to me chasing them or being ignored sometimes, I’ve seen it all. In my mind, this makes zero sense because if someone is going to pay you for your services, you should be chasing after them, not the other way around. So, in today’s post, I’m sharing some tips on how to make your hustle better this year, from my experience.

  1. Be Honest: I understand that you don’t want to disappoint a potential customer by telling them that you’re not available the day they need you, but you don’t have voodoo I hope, so you can’t be in two places at once, can you? Tell them you appreciate them for reaching out, ask them if they’re willing to choose another date. If not, ask for their contact or social media, and tell them you look forward to working with them sometime in the future. Refer them to someone just as good, if you know anyone. The worst thing you can do is lie, and not show up. You will lose a potential customer, and most likely ten others, because they’ll never recommend you to anyone.


2. Follow up: If you’re available the day the person needs you, and you both have made necessary plans for the day of the service, that’s awesome! Now it is time to follow up with your customer. Ask them politely three days later to make sure they haven’t changed their minds about anything. If you have any suggestions for them, tell them about it. Lastly, tell them you’re excited about the service, the day before the service. Trust me, you’ll be appreciated when your customer  feels your enthusiasm, and doesn’t feel the need to chase after you.

3. Complete your task in time: If you’re a photographer for example, and you told your client the pictures will be ready in five days, don’t let your five become seven, you’ll be resented for it (I know from experience). We’re all busy people, but you should find time to complete the task you started, especially if you were paid for it. Honestly guys, it is time to step up our games, can’t afford to be losing clients, especially in this economy.
