Hey Guys! I’m back! 🙂
I’m Jess, a friend of Oyinlola. I do a guest post on the blog once in awhile. You can read my first blog post here. You might have seen the title of this blog entry, and concluded that it had something to do with love or maybe relationships. Sorry to disappoint, it doesn’t!
Now that you know I’m no relationship expert, let’s talk about your heart.
Biology tells us that the heart is an organ in the body that helps circulate blood; it pumps the blood, moves it all around, and does a lot of bio-stuff. But an important thing about the heart, is the fact that once it ceases to function, a person can no longer stay alive (you probably already know this). And while this heart is very important, there is another heart that’s of a greater importance. The Intangible Heart. This heart is that part of us where our emotions and desires dwell. It is composed of our mind, our will, our conscience and our emotion. Our very lives emanate from the heart. We lead, live, relate, confront, instruct, manage, love, and problem solve from the heart.

I was watching a video yesterday, and it bordered around discussions of faith, especially the Christian faith. Many of the discussants gave up on their faith when questions arose and they were okay with it. This reminded me of a time in my life, about two years ago when my faith started to waver because I had questions. So many questions about God, Jesus, and the world. I was constantly wondering if He really existed. I thought my questions would never be answered, that it was absurd to question my religion, and I almost gave up believing but in the end, I was undoubtedly proven wrong.
It is okay, quite normal to have questions, you won’t be normal if you didn’t. We are humans and we’ve been blessed with reason, so we are naturally curious especially when we can’t see what we believe in. It’s not okay however to wallow in your questions and not purposefully look for answers. This is when doubt starts to creep in and in order to doubt your doubts, you need to have solid answers. Remember, even satan knows the bible, and he’ll use it against you. Why not use it against him instead?
There are evidences that God exists everywhere, there are historical evidences that prove Jesus existed too. So, if you have been wondering, doubting, and would like to get answers to some of your questions, leave a comment. If I have an answer, I’ll write a detailed reply. If I don’t, I’ll let you know, do some research, ask other people, and get some. Maybe others in the comment section can help us out too. You might even be able to help someone, so ask away. This is a concise post, mainly to update you on my thoughts about the use of Milk of Magnesia as a face primer. I remember raving about this product in my Must have makeup products, but my thoughts have changed since then. Don’t get me wrong, this product is still the best at masking oiliness and keeping your makeup on all day. My biggest fear was that this would cause me to break out or have adverse effect on my skin like some reviews said, but this was not the case.
This is how the product looks when you first apply it to your face, it leaves a white cast that I let dry before applying foundation. Continue reading “Updated Review of the Milk of Magnesia”
Hi everyone, welcome back to another style post. It’s been long since I did one of these (let’s hope I remember how). I was inspired by Jennifer Amani when I saw a dashiki look on her Instagram some days ago. I got this vibrant green dashiki from Perade (my favourite African store) and you can purchase yours via this link or through their Instagram.
For my first style, I paired my green dashiki with a pair of leggings and black flats. Nothing fancy, just a causal look that was worn to class. The picture was taken a year ago, as you can see I was looking like a baby girl. Continue reading “Style your Dashiki | Two ways”
Three posts in four days, what???? I can’t believe I’m on a roll , can you? If you’re proud of me, let me know in the comment section.
Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the much talked about Vanity Planet skin spa system. If you’re on always Youtube and Instagram, you have probably heard every beauty guru mention this product in skin care videos. This is the reason why I purchased the kit for myself. I had such high hopes for it, so keep reading to find out if my expectations were met.

It’s Spring time! Yes, it’s time to ditch those bulky winter accessories and come alive, and I know I’m not alone in my feelings. Even though it hasn’t felt much like spring in Philadelphia, I walked out of my dorm on Monday and I almost shed tears of joy because the weather felt so good. That feeling inspired me to dress cute all week and write this post. Continue reading “My Love Hate Relationship with Spring”
Hi guys, happy weekend! I was so anxious all week, anxious for the weekend (because the week was too darn stressful) and for my upcoming posts (they promise to be exciting). Without further ado, let’s get into this mini haul, all from Ulta Beauty.
Remember when I reviewed different mascaras in my recent review and said if I had to buy any, it would be the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.Well, I stayed true to my word and bought it. Read the review to find out why.
Next thing I got is this Mario Badescu Grab and Go kit. It contains a facial spray for hydration and glowy skin, and a drying lotion that claims to dry out pimples instantly. I used the facial spray all week, and I fell in love. My skin feels hydrated, not oily in the mornings when I use it. I can’t tell you much about the drying lotion yet, but I’ll keep you updated.
