Here’s My Life Update before the World Ends

Hi Friend,

You didn’t think I was done blogging, did you? I hope not because I could never. However, I took a major (way too long) break and haven’t written a blog post since December 2018. This was while I was studying abroad and a lot has happened since then, like your girl graduated from University! So, before I continue, let me tell you that you can now refer to me as ‘BIG FISH’ 😂.

Since the world is ending and COVID19 (corona virus) is taking over, I thought now was the perfect time to end my one year blogging hiatus and say hi to my virtual friends. It’s been on my mind to write a post for a long time now and I wish I could tell you why I stopped writing, but I have no good excuse.

Eeerrr.. actually, that is a lie. I know exactly why I stopped writing and it’s because I let anxiety and fear rule my life in 2019. You know when something tragic happens to your favorite celebrity and they go off they the grid for sometime, that was kind of the case. Not saying I’m a celebrity or even close, but I can relate to why it’s difficult for people to be creative when they’re in a funk. They can’t do anything motivating since they’re feeling anything but inspired, and that’s how I was.

2019 was a huge year for me as I graduated college and started to get my feet wet in the Adult pool (let me be the 1000th person to tell you that adulting is the ghetto and there’ll be many posts explaining why). Sadly, I couldn’t enjoy my achievements in the way I should have because I was constantly in my head worrying, over-planning, and stressing out about things that would eventually work themselves out.

I share all this to say that life is VERY funny! It has a way of showing us that worrying is pointless. The events in 2020 have made me aware of how uncontrollable life is. We can’t control the weather, nature, our growth, our environment, even our life plans. It’s not our world anyways, it’s God’s world and He orchestrates everything to work out for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28).

So, while the world falls apart and God teaches us how clueless we are, I’m grateful for the reminder that I don’t have to worry about anything. Not tomorrow, not my future, not anything because Life works out in mysterious ways.

I’m learning to rest in this assurance by practicing the tips I shared in 2017 on how to deal with anxiety. It feels good to get everything out on digital paper and write again. I’ve missed sharing on here and I’m happy to be back. Thanks to everyone who kept me accountable, please continue to do so. I love you all and am with more content!

Let me know what phase of life you’re in and how it’s going BELOW. Share what content you’d like us to discuss and more! I’m sorry I allowed myself miss a whole year of your lives, but I’m back now and Cheers to all the content coming!!!

Enjoy this Exclusive Year Old graduation photos (I’ll probably share more at a later time). For more photos, check out my Instagram ;).

  1. Welcome back Oyin!!
Actually missed you a whole lot! Missed reading and missed seeing your pictures!
    Adulting is actually the ghetto!

The phase of life I’m in is “work-in-progress.” I’m currently trying to unlearn, learn and relearn a lot of things. I’m in the questioning phase of my life. Literally I’m questioning everything😂😂
Through it all tho, I’m learning that I’m still a pencil in the hand of the creator and He controls the movement of the pencil!

2020 has literally thought me to be grateful for the present. Literally! It’s only March and a whole lot has happened and I’m thankful I’m still here!

I’ll love to see more of unconventional conversations like stuffs people don’t normally talk about like how to deal with comparison, how to trust God even when you don’t feel like it, it’s okay to be selfish sometimes.
    Thought provoking topics generally!

    Can’t wait to read more✨
