My dream Vanity (Beauty) Room feat. Arhaus

Hello beautiful,

4a5ad87a3794e69718931de9f03fbdf8

Am I right in stating that almost every female teen or young adult dreams about her future home? If you haven’t, you’re probably very unique (in the best way). I’m not as unique as you are though, I look forward to having a place to call home. Being in college away from home, makes me miss home so much. It gets me excited for the time when I have a place to call home again. I know I’ll be both excited and terrified to decorate. Thankfully, I have a mom who is amazing at home decor to help me out.

The third place I’m going to decorate in my home after the living room and kitchen, is most likely my beauty room. I dream about having a personal space that includes a mini home office and makeup station. I would like my bedroom to be just for sleep and relaxation. In anticipation of the day my dream comes true, I’ll be here, patiently fantasizing about my dream vanity space. Since there is no fun in dreaming alone, I’m sharing with you guys how I envision  my future beauty space. Hopefully, it inspires you.

Did you know blue is my favorite color? If you didn’t, now you know. That’ why it’s no surprise that I would want my space to reflect different shades of blue. Also, since I absolutely love the combination of blue and white, the room will be blue and white themed, giving off a sense of calm and tranquility, which I always crave. I know I would want  blue and white walls like the picture below. Also, the space will be in 3 sections. There’ll be an office space, a couch area for when I get lazy, and a makeup station. The sections are showcased below. Continue reading “My dream Vanity (Beauty) Room feat. Arhaus”

Hazy Fantasies is 1! A Year’s Recap of my Blogging Journey

Hazy Fantasies is 1! A Year’s Recap of my Blogging Journey

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Eyyyyyyy heyyyyyy….. I’m super excited today, and I’m sure you can guess why. On the 29th of June 2016, I shared my very first blog post accidentally (story for another day). Fast forward to July 2017, and my baby is 1 (that’s right, this blog is my precious baby), and that’s why I wanted everything about this post/celebration to be perfect. First of all, I need to give a huge shout-out to you. Yes, you who is reading right now. I am so grateful to you for taking the time to read this post, I appreciate you. To all who have been reading this young blog since day 1, you are the real MVPs and I love you. You keep me going, and you are the reason why Hazy Fantasies is still alive today. I hope you feel very special.

If you asked me a year ago if I wanted to be a blogger, I probably wouldn’t have understood what you were asking me. I only discovered the blogging world in the summer of 2016, through Instagram and YouTube. I love reading and viewing cute photos, so it was no surprise that I got hooked on blogs. I started mine in June, and it’s been a journey ever since. Blogging is such an experience (a positive one). It’s been an amazing documentation of my growth as an individual and my struggles. I love connecting with people on here and building a community. I also love receiving insights and advice from my readers, I honestly apply your wise inputs in my life. Another major lesson I’ve learnt is, blogging is a preview of what real life would be like after university. Working on projects, researching, being disappointed by suppliers/clients, getting bored and finding inspiration, collaborations, networking are things I’ve dealt with and continue to deal with as a blogger.

Your complete guide to a Skincare Routine- Morning and Evening

Hi beautiful,

I’m sure you missed the beauty posts, so I’m back with another one. I wanted this post to be perfect because skincare is dear to my heart. I watched a lot of skincare videos in the past and I was usually bombarded with a lot of information that I had no idea what I needed exactly for an everyday routine.

After much experimenting and creating a routine for myself, I am glad to let you in on my easy 2 step morning routine and 4 step night routine. I won’t be recommending specific products in this post because my skin is different from yours, but I’ll recommend you do your research and buy products that cater to your skin type. My skin is sensitive/acne-prone, so the products I use cater to this need.

Morning Routine:

1. Cleanse: In the morning, all the energy I can muster up for skincare goes into cleansing my face with a good facial wash. I don’t do anything extra, I just cleanse and dry my face. The cleanser I’m currently using is this Neutrogena bar soap for acne-prone skin. I mentioned the reasons why I love using bar soaps in a previous post.

Hello beautiful,

Thank you for stopping by today, you’ll be happy because this is a concise post. I wanted to recommend the series ‘King Women’ to you, if you haven’t heard about it yet.

King Women is a Youtube interview series created by Nigerian media mogul, Kemi Adetiba. The series provides a platform where some successful Nigerian women provide insights into their lives, and how they defeated various obstacles to achieve their goals. The show takes you on a journey of how these women turned life’s lemons into lemonades. They share everything from relationships, to family ties, sexual assaults, career paths and much more. Behind every face is a story, and the stories of these beautiful, groundbreaking women will inspire you.

The videos below are two episodes that stood out to me the most in the series. If you intend to watch other episodes, search up ‘Kemi Adetiba King Women’ on Youtube. Summertime Glow (aka slight slay)

Hi beautiful,

Welcome to Hazy Fantasies, I’m glad you stopped by today. It’s not officially summertime but it might as well be, the weather already feels like summer, I’m out of school and I feel light-hearted. I decided a while ago to switch up some things this summer. Try hopping on a few trends, explore new states or cities in the U.S.A, get back to reading novels, and most importantly, relax. Let’s see how I’m doing…

From the above list, the first thing I did was try a new hair color, I was indecisive on purple or burgundy, but you can see what color I went with in the end. I love how well the burgundy hair suits my skin tone, the curly hair is a plus. I also wanted to get into head wraps and bandanas this summer. Fortunately, I got some from Perade (my favorite store to shop for African accessories). I love the pink color of this bandana, and the pattern on it is icing on the cake. Just for the purpose of looking glam, I packed my hair into a side bun, and added some hoop earrings. What do you think of the look? Do you think I did justice to the bandana or it did justice to me? Trusting God more| Practical Tips

Trusting God more| Practical Tips

Hey beautiful,

Welcome to another week, and thank you for stopping by the blog. Last week, Jess (our favorite guest blogger) and I  discussed the problem of Anxiety and those ‘Blah Moments‘ that we experience. Both topics resonated with me and prompted me to write this post.

I can’t speak for you, but as a Christian, my whole wiring is based on my belief in God and his purpose for me. My anxiety stems from not trusting God enough, and forgetting that he has all things figured out for me. This might be your reality too if you think deeply. Like me, you may want to trust God completely, and depend on him one hundred percent.

My former thought that anxiety cannot be cured has changed radically since my last post. I am now a firm believer that anxiety can be gone completely just like Joan said in response to me. I am experiencing for myself that it’s only a matter of trusting God and his purpose more. This happened through constant study of God’s word and conviction by the Holy Spirit.

The tips below are tips that are helping me build my trust in God. You might have heard them before and this is just a reminder. It is my hope that as you read on, you realize that faith and fear cannot coexist, faith must ultimately win.

Over to the tips;

Believe that you are right with God: A lot of times you think there is something you do that makes God pleased with you. Before you can trust God, you need to know that he is and has always been interested in you. When he sees you, he doesn’t see you as an unworthy sinner, instead, he sees you in the righteousness of Jesus, the child in whom he is well pleased (God is pleased with you!) Matthew 3:17. He loves you, and you did nothing to earn that love, so there is nothing you can do to un-earn the love. Accept that God loves you, is pleased with you, and you have been made right with him because Christ died for your sins. If you hold on to the devil’s lie that God is angry with you because of sin, you will let him win by not enjoying your father’s truth and grace which you need to trust him. Confess your sin and receive God’s forgiveness. Continue reading “Trusting God more| Practical Tips”

The ‘Blahs’ – By Jess

Microsoft Word - Document1

The Spring semester of 2016, was the “Semester of Worry.” I was worried about my finances, getting an on campus job, doing well in my classes, being able to take care of myself, and making lasting friendships. I was overwhelmed by anxiety and blinded by my problems that I always anticipated the worst outcome. But then in the summer of that year, I got a job, I didn’t have to retake any class, I was able to take care of myself, and I had a much better living condition. So I decided that the Fall was going to be the “Semester of Hope and Prayer.” When I was not praying and asking God to provide a way out, I was worrying about the gigantic wall that wasn’t budging. And so when the semester ended and I was neck deep in the same problem, I felt discouraged. I was offended at God; I questioned His power and might, and I doubted if He was for me. In the midst of all of this, God revealed His love to my heart, and that’s when I started to see the good that came out of the problems. However, between my time of discouragement, and finding God’s love, I had a case of the blahs.

What exactly are the blahs? Continue reading “The ‘Blahs’ – By Jess”

Let’s Chat| Much needed Break

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Excuse me there,

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, I mean maybe just a little bit. But before you get all worked up, this post isn’t me telling you that I’m taking a break from blogging. It was what the post was meant to be about but I had a change of heart. I thought I was getting overwhelmed and needed a break because I wasn’t pushing out as much posts as I wanted to, but that was only because of final exams. Then, I thought I had an excuse to stay away for three weeks because I’ll be going on a trip, and needed to unplug (it sounded like a valid reason), but this is not the case anymore.
