My dream Vanity (Beauty) Room feat. Arhaus

Hello beautiful,

4a5ad87a3794e69718931de9f03fbdf8

Am I right in stating that almost every female teen or young adult dreams about her future home? If you haven’t, you’re probably very unique (in the best way). I’m not as unique as you are though, I look forward to having a place to call home. Being in college away from home, makes me miss home so much. It gets me excited for the time when I have a place to call home again. I know I’ll be both excited and terrified to decorate. Thankfully, I have a mom who is amazing at home decor to help me out.

The third place I’m going to decorate in my home after the living room and kitchen, is most likely my beauty room. I dream about having a personal space that includes a mini home office and makeup station. I would like my bedroom to be just for sleep and relaxation. In anticipation of the day my dream comes true, I’ll be here, patiently fantasizing about my dream vanity space. Since there is no fun in dreaming alone, I’m sharing with you guys how I envision  my future beauty space. Hopefully, it inspires you.

Did you know blue is my favorite color? If you didn’t, now you know. That’ why it’s no surprise that I would want my space to reflect different shades of blue. Also, since I absolutely love the combination of blue and white, the room will be blue and white themed, giving off a sense of calm and tranquility, which I always crave. I know I would want  blue and white walls like the picture below. Also, the space will be in 3 sections. There’ll be an office space, a couch area for when I get lazy, and a makeup station. The sections are showcased below. Continue reading “My dream Vanity (Beauty) Room feat. Arhaus”

Your complete guide to a Skincare Routine- Morning and Evening

Hi beautiful,

I’m sure you missed the beauty posts, so I’m back with another one. I wanted this post to be perfect because skincare is dear to my heart. I watched a lot of skincare videos in the past and I was usually bombarded with a lot of information that I had no idea what I needed exactly for an everyday routine.

After much experimenting and creating a routine for myself, I am glad to let you in on my easy 2 step morning routine and 4 step night routine. I won’t be recommending specific products in this post because my skin is different from yours, but I’ll recommend you do your research and buy products that cater to your skin type. My skin is sensitive/acne-prone, so the products I use cater to this need.

Morning Routine:

1. Cleanse: In the morning, all the energy I can muster up for skincare goes into cleansing my face with a good facial wash. I don’t do anything extra, I just cleanse and dry my face. The cleanser I’m currently using is this Neutrogena bar soap for acne-prone skin. I mentioned the reasons why I love using bar soaps in a previous post.

Hello Beauties,

How you doing? It’s been on mind to write this post for the longest time, so glad I finally got around to it. This post is about a brand that crept into my life and amazed me some months ago. It’s drugstrore brand, Garnier. I don’t know how familiar most of you are with this brand, because I had no idea the brand even existed till December 2016, but I have been pleasantly surprised with most of the products I have purchased from the brand, and I decided to share with you guys, so here it goes.. Updated Review of the Milk of Magnesia

Hi beautiful,

This is a concise post, mainly to update you on my thoughts about the use of Milk of Magnesia as a face primer. I remember raving about this product in my Must have makeup products, but my thoughts have changed since then. Don’t get me wrong, this product is still the best at masking oiliness and keeping your makeup on all day.  My biggest fear was that this would cause me to break out or have adverse effect on my skin like some reviews said, but this was not the case.

This is how the product looks when you first apply it to your face, it leaves a white cast that I let dry before applying foundation. Continue reading “Updated Review of the Milk of Magnesia”

Huge Ulta Haul| Mini Review

Hi guys, happy weekend! I was so anxious all week, anxious for the weekend (because the week was too darn stressful) and for my upcoming posts (they promise to be exciting). Without further ado, let’s get into this mini haul, all from Ulta Beauty.

Remember when I reviewed different mascaras in my recent review and said if I had to buy any, it would be the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.Well, I stayed true to my word and bought it. Read the  review to find out why.

Next thing I got is this Mario Badescu Grab and Go kit. It contains a facial spray for hydration and glowy skin, and a drying lotion that claims to dry out pimples instantly. I used the facial spray all week, and I fell in love. My skin feels hydrated, not oily in the mornings when I use it. I can’t tell you much about the drying lotion yet, but I’ll keep you updated. How to be Anti-Acne 101

Gather round girls, it’s time for the truth. I know we all want flawless faces, you know the Instagram type of face, with no blackheads, acne, and even scarring. We’ve all watched gazillion youtube videos titled ‘5 ways to get rid of Acne, blah blah…’. I was a victim of this for such a long time, I became a product junkie, buying everything my favorite Youtubers recommended. Some worked, others did not. Some worked for weeks, then they stopped. During this naive period , I realized some truths that I’m sharing today. Basically what beauty gurus won’t tell you.

Happy mid week everyone! No major introduction needed today, I’ll get right into it. I’ll be reviewing three mascara samples I got from Sephora two months ago. I used them over the holidays, so I have in depth knowledge of how they work and maybe I’ll help you in choosing a new mascara. Shoutout to Rachael and her fingers for these bomb pictures. Battle of the cleansers

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Cleansers, cleansers, cleansers! It’s so random how I collected all these cleansers within a short period of time. I was going through my stuff last night and realised I had 6 cleansers, in my head I owned only 2 or 3. So today, I’ll be reviewing each of these cleansers in case you have seen them around and wandered about them. Feel free to share your thoughts on any of them if you have used them.

Let’s start with my fave: Dudu Osun.  Continue reading “Battle of the cleansers”
