**Hang tight, this is a long post, but it is very interesting.
I’ve been following Christ for two years now, and I’m very passionate about him. Last week, I asked God to bring me back to the foundation of Christianity, so I could tell people about him effectively. He brought me into the book of Acts, which is filled with stories of how the early church started. There are some profound sermons and stories shared by the pioneers of the early church (Peter, Paul, Stephen, etc.) These men were effective in preaching the gospel to people who knew about God (Jews), and those who did not (Gentiles). Reading Acts has motivated me to share the gospel with as much detail as I can. I’ll encourage you to read this post, and proceed to read Acts for more in depth understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Continue reading “I bring you Good News!”
This is the most random post I’ve ever written, but stick with me, I promise this is going somewhere. I feel led to encourage someone who is struggling or feels stuck. I want to let you know that God is with you amidst your struggle. Something I learnt recently is that God is faithful to us because ‘Faithful’ is who he is. He won’t be God if he is not faithful to us. Continue reading “#Testimony: You are Never Lost”
For long I pondered this question: Why are a lot of Christians not as powerful as Christians used to be and can be? I’ll read my bible, and see power that Christians like Paul and Peter exhibited, and I’ll ask God why I don’t have the same power. Even before Christ came, men like Daniel and his friends experienced Gods power. I know that God is still as powerful as he was then, because he does not change. This knowledge drew me to the conclusion that we are the problem, that I am the problem. Surely, it is me doing something wrong if I do not possess the power that God has made accessible to Christians. Continue reading “Life in the Spirit”
2017 is a wrap! Thank you so much Jesus. I am in awe of you God, and this is my ode to you as this year comes to an end. I love you God, not because of anything I am but because of everything you are. I love you because you have have given me the privilege to know you. I didn’t do anything deserving to experience the greatness of my wonderful creator, but you chose to honor me with knowledge of you. I am standing here because you made a way, and I can’t thank you enough. Continue reading “A THANK YOU ODE TO MY FATHER”
Woow Woow woow! That is all the words I can find to sum up what a year 2017 has been. I’m writing this post a couple of days to my birthday and let’s just say I’m reflecting a bit on this year. This extremely fast, and worthwhile year. I am not one to make new year resolutions, although I should try making a list this year, to see if they actually work. I am one to pray to God for a theme for my year, and the theme for 2017 has been “Finding Peace.” The kind of peace that does not rely on success, other peoples’ acceptance, relationships, and perfection before it is fulfilled. Growing up, I looked forward to Sundays because it meant getting dressed in a cute gown for church, and eating yummy dinner. These things were great, but I loved Sundays mostly because I longed for the praise and worship session at church. In my little head, worshiping God was possible only through worship songs, and it was the only way I thought I could feel God’s presence. I grew up with this mindset ever since, until last year. Did anyone else grow up with this mindset? Continue reading “Let’s chat || True Worship”
Welcome again to the blog, you’ll be excited to learn that this post is not much of a read. I only wanted to share 5 songs from my playlist with you. These are songs I listen to, and am blessed by almost daily. I hope you listen and are blessed by them today, let me know in the comment section which ones you fall in love with. Enjoy!
First up , are two songs praising God and remembering his creation. I love listening to songs that describe God’s mightiness and the greatness of his creation. I’m always left in awe of how amazingly mighty my creator is. The songs showcasing these descriptions are; So Will I by Hillsong and a Yoruba song (Oluwa O Tobi) with translations by Evangelist Tope Alabi.

There’s really no point to this post, but I was going through my random notes and got reminded of what I wrote about Ephesians 4:30 two months ago. It’s a short writing I always go to for encouragement, and I hope it encourages you today. Have a fruitful week!
“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.” – Ephesians 4:30 Continue reading “Random Notes- Abundant Grace “
When you become a believer in a world that is forgetting God, and choosing to live life the way it pleases, you start to see the world in its broken state. It’s like you are given fresh lenses that enable you view the world differently. When you begin to see this brokenness, it’s easy to lose hope in God’s redemption plan sometimes.
You start to take some of the worlds’ burden upon yourself, and it is too much to carry. I can’t count the number of times I thought to myself and prayed that God will just come back already. Continue reading “How to live in a world deficient of God’s presence”
I know I know, the title of this post sounds all fancy and official, and I have my friend, Sophia to thank for that. She suggested that I write this, and it surprised me that I never thought to write about prayer before. I probably thought I had something similar up since prayer is so dear to my heart, but I guess I was wandering in dreamland. You might have noticed that every religion has elements of prayer in it. That’s because if you believe in God or something greater than yourself, you understand the need to put your hope and trust in the entity ruling over you and the whole world, an entity that knows and controls everything from past to the future.
Prayer stems from accepting that you need to worship/ reverence God, and make your requests known to him. It is casting your burdens at his feet and letting him take care of them. You pray because you are fighting battles against demons and principalities that you cannot see. Prayer time is a time to bask in the glory of your maker, and allow your heart experience his mightiness. Prayer opens doors, moves mountains, breaks chains, soothes your soul and allows you to feel God’s presence constantly.
Think about it this way, God Almighty has given unworthy you unconditional access to approach his throne of grace and mercy, and you ought to take full advantage of the privilege. Here’s a simple definition of prayer by Dr. Ralph Martin that I love; “Prayer is at root simply paying attention to God.” It is humbling yourself, accepting that it is not about you or your situation, but it’s instead all about God and his glory. This is what we are created for anyways, to glorify God!
Now that you understand why you need to pray, let’s get into the practicals of making prayer a lifestyle: Continue reading “The Underestimated Power of Prayer”
