Just another Chapter

img_7809Hi everyone! I know I know, not all of you are in the mood of reading a blog post today but wait. Don’t shut me out just yet, this post isn’t about me today, it’s about all of us. I know a lot of you are disheartened, confused, disappointed and heart broken and trust me, I get you. But in the midst of this chaos, it is very easy to forget that this election period was merely another chapter in this long story book of the world. I am reading this new book (picture below) by Devon Franklin, and I was encouraged by some of his thoughts and I thought I would share with you guys what he wrote. Trust me, this is in relation with what is going on with the world! I hope you are encouraged. Continue reading “Just another Chapter”

Happy Monday!!! Hope you’re as  excited as I am this morning. It’s the start of a new week so hopefully you’re optimistic about the week ahead. I slept like a baby last night and apparently there was a raging thunderstorm that had my roommates in panic mode but I slept through it all. I feel like I can even sleep on water at this point and not realize. Okay, I’m rambling off again and I’ll stop now.

Anyways, where my Bellanaija crew at?I attended a wedding this weekend and I was so excited about it. It was my first Igbo traditional wedding and I was looking forward to the cultural aspect especially the part where the bride looks for her fiancé with a cup of palm wine. As usual, when I told my friends about going to the wedding, the banter was to go there and look for bae lmaoo. I even have a friend whose Dad makes her attend weddings to find a future husband. It’s hilarious and I love the banter.

I absolute love weddings, they  serve as huge reminders of God’s purpose for us; to love, be loved and procreate. It is very easy to forget this purpose especially with the devil attacking the institution of marriage lately. We are witnessing a rampage of broken homes, divorce, violence and mistrust. Personally, I became discouraged a while back and decided that true love does not exist anymore but then, I prayed severely about it and decided that my story is not everyone’s story. As long as  I put God first and keep the faith even if the devil wants me to lose it, my own husband will come at right time.

Positivity breeds Positivity

Last night was rough for me, I laid on my bed in the middle of the night feeling down, my body ached for no reason at all, my phone and laptop were acting up and my face was itchy. My face was literally very itchy, I have no idea why that was and if you have ever experienced this itchiness before, I would appreciate it if you could comment below and and explain to me why my face started to itch after midnight. I’m usually very impatient and in this situation, my patience was beyond tested and I wanted to rip off my face. I called my friend and explained what happened and it was only after hearing the sound of my whining that I realised I was over thinking the situation. Thing is, over thinking a situation makes it out to be worse than it really is. Continue reading “Positivity breeds Positivity”

What is your standard of measurement?

‘Don’t do this’, ‘Why are you wearing that?’ ‘I will never understand how you dress’ ‘No! That’s not how you cook it!’, ‘How can you like that guy? You can do better than him’ ‘You’re so boring, you never wanna do anything fun with us’. These are phrases I’ve heard so many times that they’ve become repetitive. It seems people have appointed themselves to be the judge of others; telling us what to wear, who we should like, how to live our lives and it is so easy to allow them be judges over us. You start to compromise your standards just to please others. You don’t wanna go out on a Friday night but you go because you were forced to and you feel miserable the whole night.
