Eyyyyyyy heyyyyyy….. I’m super excited today, and I’m sure you can guess why. On the 29th of June 2016, I shared my very first blog post accidentally (story for another day). Fast forward to July 2017, and my baby is 1 (that’s right, this blog is my precious baby), and that’s why I wanted everything about this post/celebration to be perfect. First of all, I need to give a huge shout-out to you. Yes, you who is reading right now. I am so grateful to you for taking the time to read this post, I appreciate you. To all who have been reading this young blog since day 1, you are the real MVPs and I love you. You keep me going, and you are the reason why Hazy Fantasies is still alive today. I hope you feel very special.
If you asked me a year ago if I wanted to be a blogger, I probably wouldn’t have understood what you were asking me. I only discovered the blogging world in the summer of 2016, through Instagram and YouTube. I love reading and viewing cute photos, so it was no surprise that I got hooked on blogs. I started mine in June, and it’s been a journey ever since. Blogging is such an experience (a positive one). It’s been an amazing documentation of my growth as an individual and my struggles. I love connecting with people on here and building a community. I also love receiving insights and advice from my readers, I honestly apply your wise inputs in my life. Another major lesson I’ve learnt is, blogging is a preview of what real life would be like after university. Working on projects, researching, being disappointed by suppliers/clients, getting bored and finding inspiration, collaborations, networking are things I’ve dealt with and continue to deal with as a blogger.

Welcome to another week, and thank you for stopping by the blog. Last week, Jess (our favorite guest blogger) and I discussed the problem of Anxiety and those ‘Blah Moments‘ that we experience. Both topics resonated with me and prompted me to write this post.
I can’t speak for you, but as a Christian, my whole wiring is based on my belief in God and his purpose for me. My anxiety stems from not trusting God enough, and forgetting that he has all things figured out for me. This might be your reality too if you think deeply. Like me, you may want to trust God completely, and depend on him one hundred percent.
My former thought that anxiety cannot be cured has changed radically since my last post. I am now a firm believer that anxiety can be gone completely just like Joan said in response to me. I am experiencing for myself that it’s only a matter of trusting God and his purpose more. This happened through constant study of God’s word and conviction by the Holy Spirit.
The tips below are tips that are helping me build my trust in God. You might have heard them before and this is just a reminder. It is my hope that as you read on, you realize that faith and fear cannot coexist, faith must ultimately win.
Over to the tips;
Believe that you are right with God: A lot of times you think there is something you do that makes God pleased with you. Before you can trust God, you need to know that he is and has always been interested in you. When he sees you, he doesn’t see you as an unworthy sinner, instead, he sees you in the righteousness of Jesus, the child in whom he is well pleased (God is pleased with you!) Matthew 3:17. He loves you, and you did nothing to earn that love, so there is nothing you can do to un-earn the love. Accept that God loves you, is pleased with you, and you have been made right with him because Christ died for your sins. If you hold on to the devil’s lie that God is angry with you because of sin, you will let him win by not enjoying your father’s truth and grace which you need to trust him. Confess your sin and receive God’s forgiveness. Continue reading “Trusting God more| Practical Tips”
What does the picture above look like to you? A normal girl yeah? That’s true, but to me, the girl above has been blessed with much more than she deserves. In the midst of life’s turbulence, she scales through with such ease and grace, made accessible to her by her heavenly Father. The girl above shouldn’t be anxious for whatever is to come because everything she has worried about in the past, she looks at now and sees that they worked out eventually.
Last summer, I worried about getting a summer job, an internship, and a lot more. I didn’t consider that in God’s huge plan for me, maybe I wasn’t ready for those things. He was opening other doors for me at the time, but I was concerned with getting the big doors open that I didn’t realize that the small steps I was taking was God leading me to a bigger purpose (how often does this happen to us?). It’s Spring time! Yes, it’s time to ditch those bulky winter accessories and come alive, and I know I’m not alone in my feelings. Even though it hasn’t felt much like spring in Philadelphia, I walked out of my dorm on Monday and I almost shed tears of joy because the weather felt so good. That feeling inspired me to dress cute all week and write this post. Continue reading “My Love Hate Relationship with Spring”
Best believe me when I tell you I’ve been struggling to write this post since January, the procrastination has been real. I got around to writing it this morning, but it didn’t get saved and I lost it. Yayy! On a serious note, it’s taken me this long to write because gathering my thoughts has been a struggle. I’m praying this post comes together in the end and I get my message across to you perfectly.
In my last post, I talked about Shows you shouldn’t bother watching. In this post however, I’ll be talking about people that annoy me, no hate cause love ti take over you know, just things I’ll prefer people not do. I get annoyed by religious people, you know those people who follow religious rules and condemn those who don’t. Since I’m christian, I can only speak from the christian perspective but I hope everyone can relate. If you know the bible, you know it says that “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23.

Hey everyone; I’m Jess, a writer (it’s just a hobby), and a friend of Oyinlola. I love food (just had to say that! lol), and I enjoy sharing my experiences, thoughts, and opinions with others. This is my first blog entry, and honestly, I’m nervous and excited (insert “lady in the red dress emoji”). Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy reading this.
What’s in your mental script?
You might ask yourself, “what is a mental script?,” or you may be wondering, “What is my mental script?.”
Your mental script is what you say about yourself when you talk to yourself.
It is what defines your evaluation of your own capabilities and worth.
It is how you view yourself, and what you think about yourself.
Your mental script has been developing since the day you were born. Your parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, teachers, classmates, colleagues, and acquaintance have influenced the content of your mental script. Continue reading “What’s in your mental script?- By Jess”

Happy Sunday everyone! Oh, and happy almost valentine my loves. It’s the season for love, and almost every post and video out there is describing the perfect gift, date and bae. Sorry to disappoint you, but today, I’m taking a different approach to this. Have you guys ever thought about your relationship with God as a huge commitment? I mean do you ever sit down and reflect on how your relationship with God is, like you would analyze your relationship with your family, friends or significant other. I have learnt to do this every time, realizing that my walk with God is a constant and conscious journey helps me not to get lazy and take it for granted. When I live my days forgetting this, nothing seems right, my heart weighs heavy, and I feel like I’m fighting with my partner. This is probably because I’m not connected with my most significant partner, so I feel guilty and tired. Continue reading “Plan your perfect date”
Hi everyone! Welcome, welcome back to Hazy Fantasies. I hope you’re all having a relaxing Saturday, I definitely am. It feels so good to wake up at 12pm, and then sleep some more. The inspiration for today’s post came from working with some vendors, and sometimes observing. I’ve had the worst luck with photographers so far, I really don’t know why, please pray that my experience with them gets better. From bailing on me on the day of a shoot, to me chasing them or being ignored sometimes, I’ve seen it all. In my mind, this makes zero sense because if someone is going to pay you for your services, you should be chasing after them, not the other way around. So, in today’s post, I’m sharing some tips on how to make your hustle better this year, from my experience. Continue reading “Three ways to double your hustle”
Hey guys! This time last week, I wrote about surviving finals weeks, and now, I have one more final left and I’m just too happy right now. After such a hectic week, I came home last night, ready to relieve myself of the week’s stress. I thought to share with you guys what i usually do to ‘de-stress’ and feel like a 100 after a tiring week. Hope this helps someone today.
First thing I do when I get back in the evening, is take off my tight clothes, put on something comfortable, like the robe in this picture (this robe has been my favourite thing ever since I got it for black Friday, and it’s from Victoria secret). Then, I go brush my teeth, wash my face, and put on a nice face mask.

‘Tis the season to be thankful! And I am super thankful for all of you. I have been trying my hardest this week to be motivated and productive as opposed to just lazying around since I have my thanksgiving break this week. I think I’m doing an okay job so far. To those of you currently writing exams, goodluck to you all! May the speedforce be with you (if you watch Flash, you’ll get that).
Today is all about being thankful, sharing gifts and food with the ones dearest to your heart. Speaking of sharing, that’s what this post is about. What do you often share with those you love? Do you share money, material things or do you prefer giving from within. I’ve come up with 3 things that I like to share or give personally to people aside from material things because trust me while it is great to give presents to people (even those who doesn’t appreciate them), it is very easy to buy things for people forgetting that other things matter too.
